Pre-installation Notice

The purpose of this Notice is to help the Client prepare for the installation of the items listed in the Contract

in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the latter.

Unless it is expressly written otherwise, further to the p.5 of the Contract in preparation for the installation, the Client shall:

    1. Provide ample parking space within 15 m of the home entrance for the duration of work or, if that is impossible, compensate the Seller for the potential parking tickets for 1 company vehicle.
    2. Ensure that the Seller’s technicians have exclusive access to the jobsite, and nothing will be impeding their productivity or compromising worksite safety including but not limited to: children, pets or vulnerable persons present at the worksite, other trades or family members working and/or accepting deliveries, accepting medical treatment, cooking, cleaning, etc.
    3. Clear the EXTERIOR of the flowerpots, garden furniture/equipment, figurines, overgrown vegetation, plants in the way the Client would like to keep intact, security bars, wiring and/or other items obstructing the access to the items being replaced.
    4. Clear the INTERIOR work areas of furniture, clothes, fragile items, etc. prior to installation.
    5. Remove the security system sensors, shutters, blinds. Anything attached to the doors/windows being replaced will be disposed of.

During and after the installation:

    1. Paint the jambs and trim and/or touch up walls around the newly installed items.
    2. Door locks.
      1. Multipoint locks are preinstalled by the manufacturer. Further service will be performed by the lock manufacturer’s representative in accordance with their terms (currently 2 years parts and labour, 5 years parts warranty).
      2. Handle and lever sets, smart locks supplied by the client. We will do the initial installation to ensure the door and the striker plates – passage/deadbolt alignment only. We do not set up the smart locks and do not take responsibility for their connectivity and/or functionality. Any further service requests shall be addressed to professional locksmiths and/or the place of purchase of such a lock.
    3. All electrical wiring and HVAC rerouting with wall cut out is the Client’s responsibility.
    4. Unless otherwise stated in the Contract payment of the balance is due on the day of installation. Possible minor deficiencies of the items installed (e.g. a broken bug screen) are covered by the warranty if paid in full and will be replaced/fixed as soon as possible. Such deficiencies can not be a reason to withhold the final payment. Failure to provide the payment when it is due may result at the Seller’s discretion in penalties, extra charges, removal of the items not paid in full, etc.
