Anatomy of a Storm Door
Drip Cap: Directs water away from door, adds protection from moisture
Top Rail: Provides structural support for the door and the glass insert
Stile: Another structural element. Holds the glass insert in place and makes the door rigid
Hinge Rail: Creates attachment point for hinges which themselves attach to the storm door, connected to the jambs of the entryway
Glass Insert: Customizeable element which comes in various sizes, can contain a self-storing screen or an interchangeable one. Provides an opening for more natural light
Retainer Strip: Helps to hold the glass insert in place, sits between glass panel and stile
Latch Rail: Attachment point for door latching mechanism which keeps door firmly shut
Screen Frame: A housing element for the screen mechanism. Screen can be interchangeable, or self-storing
Screen Insert: Made from polycoated fibreglass screen mesh, keeps pests out of your home and allows ventilation when needed. Can be fixed or retractable (self-storing)
Bottom Rail: Secures the door and stiles together for structural support. Also serves as attachment point for bottom sweep
Sweep: Seals door from weather elements, prevents drafts, and acts as a barrier preventing damage to the door

- Upon receiving the porch enclosure all hardware and joining channels are provided for easy installation. All necessary U, L, & H channels are provided as required.
