Aztech Performance Series Sliding Windows

Horizontal slider tilt windows are often used in openings with larger width than the height. They are also used where swinging (casement or awning) windows would create an obstruction when opened (e.g. over the deck or stairs). All sliding windows offer triple weatherstripping, an automatic safety lock with an “open/close” indicator for added security and ease of use.

Aztech Performance Series single slider tilt window combines sleek design and superior efficiency with practicality where only one sash needs to be operable. Ideal for larger openings, they maximize usable space inside and outside your home through their simple gliding movement. The operating sash can be tilted inside to allow for ease of cleaning while the other remains stationary. Half-size internal spring-loaded screen.

  • Air Tightness A3/F
  • Resistance to Wind-driven Rain B3
  • Wind Load Resistance C5
  • Energy Rating – 9.74 W/m2

Aztech Performance Series double slider tilt window offers additional flexibility and ease of use where both sashes need to open. Ideal for larger openings, they maximize usable space inside and outside your home through their simple gliding movement. Both operating sashes can be tilted inside to allow for ease of cleaning. Full internal screen spring loaded for ease of operation.

  • Air Tightness A3
  • Resistance to Wind-driven Rain B3
  • Wind Load Resistance C3
  • Energy Rating – 9.74 W/m2

The end vent slider tilt window is often preferred for the same reason as the other sliding windows, but the opening is wider than 72”. It is also used in new construction as a lower cost solution where casement window combination look needs to be achieved. Featuring the same classic looks as the Performance Series single slider, the end vent slider has operating sashes at either end that tilt in for easy cleaning from inside your home. Two internal screens spring loaded for ease of operation.

  • Resistance to Wind-driven Rain B3
  • Wind Load Resistance C3
  • Energy Rating – 9.74 W/m2

All Aztech Performance Series vinyl window frames and sashes are constructed entirely from superior UPVC extruded profile. The frame and sash corners are fusion welded into a monolithic unit to provide a permanent seal against air and water penetration. Aztech vinyl Windows and Doors come in the optimal glossy shine which in the long run offers a more attractive appearance and allows for easier cleaning. Fusion welded corners together with multi-chambered frame and sash provide for maximum durability, insulation and security. Hardware

These types of locks are known for their simple, durable, and effective design. They’re extremely easy to use, and operate by pushing the lever into the ‘open’ or ‘closed’ position. They provide additional weather resistance by tightening the seal between the movable pane and the frame of the window when locked.
Half Sized, Internal Spring-Loaded Screens
Half Sized, Internal Spring-Loaded Screens
These screens provide protection from insects, dust, and unwanted pests. They also allow for better ventilation free of debris and dust. Additionally, our screens are easily removed from the window using the spring-loaded pins for easy access cleaning.

Annealed
Annealed Glass
Annealed glass is made using a slow cooling process to increase durability and prevent shattering. When it does break, it splits into sharp, irregular shaped pieces.
Tempered
Tempered Glass
Tempered glass goes through a controlled thermal process in manufacturing to change its structure. When it breaks, it fractures into small harmless fragments with relatively rounded edges.
Laminated
Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is composed of two or more layers of glass with an interlayer of plastic, providing resistance to shattering upon impact. When it breaks, the interlayer holds it together preventing fragment dispersal.

FAQ On Sliding Windows

What is a sliding window?

A sliding window is a type of window that you slide to the side to open. It’s just a convention that windows sliding to the side are called “Sliding” and those, sliding up and down are called “Hung”. Unlike hung windows the sliders can have more than 2 panels but the fact remains – you can open it only by pushing at least one of the panels to the side.

Are there different types of sliding windows?

Yes, there are three types available – single, double, and three-paned or “end-vent”.
A single slider has one fixed and one movable pane. You can choose if the moveable one is on the right or the left.

A double slider has two to three panes of glass, two of which move. They give you the flexibility to open on either side. It may come in handy if you decide to move the furniture around which would block the access to the side you usually open.

A three-paned slider adds a fixed panel between he two opening ones. It is usually used where the openings are wider than 70” and/or you need to match the split of another wide window directly above or below it.

What are the benefits of the sliding windows?

Slider windows have several advantages over other types. These include unobstructed views, easy fits, wider openings, simple opening and closing, and often a lower price.

Sliding windows have narrower frames (as opposed to casements and awnings) that allow for a more expansive view of the outside while also letting in more natural light and achieving good insulation performance.

Which one is better Single slider or Double slider?

Short answer: it depends on the situation.

Typically, single-sliding windows are less expensive than double-sliding because the fixed side requires fewer moving parts and hardware. This lowers production costs and simplifies the assembly.

Airflow is the same in either one – you can only open ½ of the window regardless how many panels you can slide. Double slider windows offer more flexibility in terms of ventilation because both sashes can be opened.

Which one is more efficient Single or Double slider?

Other factors equal (size and type of glazing) the double sliders are less efficient than the single sliders. However, the difference is not that much and can be easily compensated by e.g. an extra coating on the glazing. The latter would add to the already higher cost but if situation dictates choosing double slider the cost difference is not high enough to influence your choice.
